Welcome to the LCOG Planning Department

      The professional staff of the Planning Department undertakes varied projects in the areas of community and regional planning, transportation, housing, economic diversification, infrastructure and history. Some are completed in house and some are undertaken with the assistance of outside consultants. Final report documents from a few recent projects can be found on the Planning Department Documents page, including the recently completed "Beaufort TDR Implementation Plan."

       The Planning Department also serves as regional demographers and statisticians. The regularly updated "The People and the Economy of the Lowcountry" is available here, as are monthly unemployment tables and graphs and other data as it is released and tabulated.

     The Planning Department features GIS/mapping, utilizing up-to-date ESRI technology to ensure both accuracy and appearance.
